That's because this Grand Slam was born in 1933. He was sired by Chance Play, a son of Fair Play. I think this horse is Caruslam, a 1946 filly.

It is funny, SMIK, how many of these names repeated themselves. It doesn't happen too often, I'd guess, that a producing stallion's name has been repeated, though. It is a bit confusing! Thanks for the possible name, Ipi! :)
